I therefore wish to take this opportunity to extend our appreciation to His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Uganda, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for his immense and unprecedented generous support to the sports sub-sector. I also wish to salute the different stakeholders, especially the complaint National Associations who have contributed towards the preparation of athletes, and special thanks goes to the National Organizing Committee (NOC) for the meticulous planning and coordination that ensured that Team Uganda was adequately well catered for in all aspects.

Sports has immense benefits in bringing nations and athletes together in the spirit of friendly competition and the XXI Commonwealth Games is one of those platforms that help enhance nation building, promote tourism and spur professionalism. We strongly believe that our athletes will anchor these values and benefits to our country.
