SERGEANT TUGUME SALUTES NCS AFTER PAN AMERICA GAMES VICTORY

Kickboxer sergeant Titus Tugume has applauded National Council of Sports and the Uganda Peoples Forces for helping him develop a career in the sport.

Mr. Tugume on Monday returned from the 2018 Pan American games in United States of America where he won a total of three medals.

He won two golds by Knock Out (KO) in kick light style and contact style and a silver medal in the point style at the 2018 Pan American games held in San Antonio.

While handing back the national flag to NCS board member Mr. Herric Chebrion, Tugume said that it is because of NCS and its management the he was able to travel of the competition.

Mr. Tugume had given up on the kickboxing competition because former Uganda Kickboxing Federation president he planned to travel with fell sick and died shortly.

Mr. Chebrion noted that it is because of the peaceful environment that government has established that enables soldiers like sergeant Tugume to travel and fight in the boxing ring instead of the known role in the battlefield.

NCS acting general secretary Mr. David Katende said they were proud with achievement because it has proved that by sponsoring Tugume, Council invested wisely.

NCS single handedly funded sergeant Tugume’s travel for the competition in USA.
