FEMALE PHYSIOTHERAPISTS TRAINED IN SPORTS PHYSIOTHERAPY

40 Sports Physiotherapists have acquired hands-on skills in Physiotherapy in the females only 1 week Sports Physiotherapy Training at Mestil Hotel, Kampala by Sports Expert, Lutz Meissner from Germany.

NCS has embarked on Capacity Building of Technical Officials in sports as one of the key aspects to technically support the development of athletes. It is strategic that the first beneficiaries of this program are the female physiotherapists knowing how vulnerable female athletes are.

The NCS General Secretary, Dr. Patrick Ogwel during the training noted that NCS wants to ensure that National Sports Associations appreciate the importance of professionalism in delivering their mandate by using qualified personnel in handling of athletes. The Program will be a continuous exercise and is meant to empower Technical Officials.

Closing the training, NCS Chairperson, Mr. Ambrose Tashobya stated the NCS has a role to facilitate the improvement of skills of Technical officials in sports. NCS, is committed to building capacity in all fields of Sports. Specifically, in the sports medicine. ‘NCS is getting the ‘Best of the Best’ to impact skills because these play a key role in the performance of athletes. Under it’s Infrastructural Development Plan, NCS will set up a state of the art Physiotherapy Centre at the Lugogo Sports Complex to meet the needs of sports athletes and enable them compete favourably at all levels.’
