UGANDA LAUNCHES THE 100 DAYS COUNTDOWN TO THE PARIS OLYMPICS AND PARALYMPIC GAMES 2024
Today, National Council of Sports, Ministry of Education and Sports, Uganda Olympic Committee and the Embassy of France in Uganda have joined the rest of the world to a countdown to the 100 days to the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games at a media launch purposed to shine a spotlight to the biggest sporting event scheduled to take place in the city of Paris from the 26th July to 11th August 2024.
With over 10,000 athletes from 206 countries expected at the games, the period ushers in a period of intense preparation and growing expectations. Uganda will present a team of 21 athletes for the Olympic Games that have already qualified from Athletics, Rowing, Cycling and Aquatics (Swimming) while more qualifications are expected from Boxing, Rugby and weightlifting. The Olympic Games are scheduled from the 26th July to 11th August 2024 while the Paralympic Games will take place from 28th August to 08th September 2024 in the French Capital Paris.

In the previous 2020 Tokyo Games, Uganda won 2 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze in the Olympics Games and 1 Bronze medal by David Emong in the Paralympic Games.
