NCS PLEDGES SUPPORT TO CRICKET CRANES CAMPAIGN TO THE ICC WORLD LEAGUE DIV 4
National Council of Sports shall financially support the National Cricket Men’s Team, the Cricket Cranes to the 2018 ICC World Cricket League Division 4 slated for 28th April 2018 to 5th May 2018 in Malaysia.
The Assistant General Secretary- Technical, Mr. David Katende empathized the pledge during the flag off of the team to the Qatar and India Tour as a build up for the above World League tournament.
Uganda Cricket Association arranged tour matches for the National Men’s Team in a bid to improve Uganda’s standing in World Cricket. The Uganda Team will tour Qatar, one of the emerging cricket nations and thereafter proceed to India.
The tour is aimed at giving players experience and exposure will run from 06th February to 24th February 2018 and the UCA Chairman, Mr. Bashir Ansasiira noted that the tour is the beginning of various efforts towards making the Cricket Cranes the pride of Uganda on the international scene.
The 16 –player squad shall be captained by Roger Mukasa and Vice-Captain Brian Masaba, while Stephen Tikolo is the team coach.
