RESPONSE TO THE FALSE ALLEGATIONS ON NATIONAL COUNCIL OF SPORTS BY JJAGWE ROBERT & GROUP- DATED 3RD MARCH 2018
19th March 2018
National Council of Sports [NCS] has received a document that was authored by one Jjagwe Robert and others, containing various false allegations in regard to the general operations of NCS as a Regulator of sports in Uganda.
In the aforementioned document, Jjagwe and others attempt to challenge the actions, mandate and powers of NCS as the Regulators of the sports sub-sector, and also proceed to make other unsubstantiated allegations to the general public.
An analysis of the said document reveals a clear lack of clarity, objectivity and proper understanding of the operations of NCS, and the legal framework that govern sports in Uganda. Unfortunately, these are the very persons who are clamoring to take critical positions in the leadership of National Sports Associations.
Whereas it is not our standard practice to normally react to such unresearched and unfounded allegations, we strongly believe that those who are conversant with NCS legal framework, can easily make their own factual conclusions on the unresearched issues raised. For instance a visit to the NCS Website www.ncs.go.ug, can clearly clarify on the mandate, functions and powers of NCS.
We wish to point out that, we have made this brief clarity for the sake of the public and the sports fraternity as a whole. In future, we shall not waste time to respond to such unfounded allegations.
Meanwhile, we have instructed our legal team to study the said document, and handle any emerging issues therein expeditiously.
