SHE CRANES PLAYER PEACE PROSCOVIA IS NAMED 2019 NETBALL WORLD CUP AMBASSADOR, AS UGANDA RISES TO 7TH POSITION IN THE LATEST INF RANKINGS

The latest International Netball Rankings have Uganda in 7th Position, just below South Africa and Malawi as the other African countries in the Top ten of the world’s best Netball countries.

The new rankings come one month to the next XXI Commonwealth Games, Gold Coast 2018, where the She Cranes (National Netball Team) qualified to play against other top countries. Other similar accolades include the She Cranes emerging champions of the 2017 Africa Netball Championships that were hosted in Kampala and the 8th finish at the last edition of the 2015 Netball World Cup in Australia.

On a similar note, She Cranes Team Captain Peace Proscovia, who also plays for Loughborough Lightning Team has been named as the first official Ambassador for Netball World Cup set for 12 to 21 July 2019 in England.

Speaking on her appointment, Peace Proscovia noted that “Netball has brought me to place I never dreamed of and it is a great honor to be part of this sport and represent my country at the highest level.”

“Netball is a sport that can help open ways for people to achieve anything they want in life- where I am now is because of netball, so I am looking forward to working with the Netball World Cup team to show our wonderful sport at its best.”
